These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Thrifteye mobile application ("Thrifteye," the "App," "we," "us," or "our"). Please read them carefully. By using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Thrifteye. If you are between 13 and the age of legal majority where you live, you must have your parent or legal guardian's permission to use the App. By using Thrifteye, you represent that you meet these requirements.
Thrifteye is a mobile application that lets you photograph an object and receive an AI-generated identification and estimated fair price for that object in the secondhand market. The App uses a third-party AI provider (Anthropic) and may perform web searches to inform its estimates.
We may add, change, or remove features at any time without notice.
This is the most important section of this document. Read it.
The identification, retail-price estimate, and used-price estimate that Thrifteye produces are generated by an AI model. They are estimates, not appraisals, and they are frequently wrong. They are intended for informational and educational use only.
Thrifteye does not provide:
You are solely responsible for any decision you make based on Thrifteye output. Verify with independent sources — actual completed sales, professional appraisers, authentication services — before transacting on anything where the price matters to you.
You create an account by verifying an email address with a one-time passcode. You are responsible for keeping your email account secure, since access to it allows access to your Thrifteye account. Do not share your one-time passcodes.
You may delete your account at any time through the Account menu in the App. We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms (see section 9).

We may suspend or terminate access without notice if we believe you are violating these rules.
You retain ownership of the photos you take with the App. By submitting photos for analysis, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to: (a) transmit those photos to our AI provider for the sole purpose of generating an analysis response, and (b) display those photos back to you in the App's history view.
This license is the minimum scope needed to deliver the service. We do not use your photos to train AI models, advertise, or for any other purpose. The license expires when the analysis completes — we do not retain the photos on our servers (see Privacy Policy section 4).
The App, including its name ("Thrifteye"), branding, code, prompts, design, and accompanying materials, is owned by us and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the App.
The App relies on services operated by Anthropic, Supabase, and Resend. Their services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of third-party services.
You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account through the in-app option. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including for violations of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including sections 3, 7, 11, 12, 13, and 14) survive.
We may modify the App or these Terms at any time. The "Effective date" at the top reflects the latest version. Material changes will be communicated through the App. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, stop using the App and delete your account.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION.
WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, WE DISCLAIM ANY WARRANTY THAT IDENTIFICATIONS OR PRICE ESTIMATES PRODUCED BY THE APP ARE CORRECT, COMPLETE, OR FIT FOR ANY PARTICULAR DECISION (SEE SECTION 3).
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP — INCLUDING ANY DECISION TO BUY OR SELL AN ITEM BASED ON A THRIFTEYE ESTIMATE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE APP IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) US$50.
SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR THE LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES. IF THESE LAWS APPLY TO YOU, SOME OR ALL OF THE EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY, AND YOU MAY HAVE ADDITIONAL RIGHTS.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the App, (b) content you submit, (c) your violation of these Terms, or (d) your violation of any law or third-party right.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the App must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Washington County, Oregon, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction that grants you a non-waivable right to sue or be sued in your local courts, this section does not override that right.
